Pre Trip Planning

  • We always travel with Pesos. The best place in Vancouver to get the best exchange rate is the Vancouver Buillon. There are a few locations around Vancouver.

  • Couple different options:
    1) Uber: They DO NOT come to arrivals, you would need to go to the departures gate upstairs to get one, its technically not allowed but this is the work around.

    2) Shuttle services: We know people who use Cabo Transfers for a shared shuttle and cheapest options https://www.cabotransfers.com/.
    We typically get Cabo Airport Shuttles https://caboairportshuttle.net/ however this is a bit more expensive but you then get a private SUV to the property. Good if you are travelling with a group of 4 or more.

    3) Taxi. We have never taken one but definitely an option.

    Use caution when exiting the airport as there are a lot of scams and time wasters at the airport. Book in advance and you can go straight to the designated pick up point outside of the airport.

  • Uber: As long as you have the app it is no different then home.
    Our car: if you sign our driving agreement we have a car at the property you can use.
    Rental car: expensive and you’ll potentially get ripped off. Better options above.

  • As with any foreign country speaking the local language is always a benefit. However, English is very prevalent and only in few scenarios will you run into a language barrier. You’ll be fine. For extra help download the Google Translate app, can be very helpful.

  • If you are from Canada you dont need a visa. You can stay up to 180 days in Mexico without any Visa.

Getting Around

  • YES! As long as you have the app it works exactly like home. It costs about $5-10 to get downtown from the property.

  • In downtown Cabo it is not easy to find street parking. There are a few paid parking lots that we go to that are relatively cheap and centrally located.
    Beaches all have parking at them and only at Medano Beach do you have to pay, less than $5 CAD for the day.

  • WHITE means you are free to park there. These are few and far between.
    GREEN means they are exclusive to the restaurant that they are painted in front of the establishment they belong to.
    RED means no parking at anytime.

    If you park in a restricted zone they will take (literally take) your license plate and you will have to go to the police station to pay the parking ticket. Tickets can be VERY expensive.

  • Unlike many Canadian and American cities, Cabo does not have off ramps that access both sides of the highway. You will most likely at one point or another have to take the off ramp on one side and do a guided U-Turn to get to your destination on the other side of the highway. You’ll understand this better when you’re down there.

  • You can. However it can be very expensive and some car rental companies are scammers. We have a car at the property you can use if you sign an agreement with us. It’s a 7 seater SUV.

  • Cabo as a whole is very unwalkable except for the downtown core and around the marina. Otherwise the only walkable area is San Jose Del Cabo which is about a 30-40 minute drive away and is a cool town that is very walkable. This is where the Art Walk is every Thursday evening.

Weather

  • Low Season is the months of August and September. This is typically when Cabo is the hottest and driest.

    High Season is from December to February.

    Shoulder Season is every other month.

    Cabo’s motto is “No bad days” and frankly anytime time of year is great to be in Cabo by our standards.

  • Shocked this is even a question? If youre from Vancouver than imagine every day it rained AND everyday it was sunny means it was probably sunny in Cabo. Cabo typically has 330 days + of Sun. It does rain but on very few occasions and it certainly isn’t for days on end more like for a few hours at a time.

  • The coldest we have felt is like 16 or 17 degress Celsisus. The hottest we have felt is 36 degrees. More often than not its around 23-27 degrees. Perfect.

What’s Provided

  • There are 2 pools and 2 hot tubs.
    A amenity/sun lounge room with BBQ near the top pool.
    A gym.
    Underground parking.

  • There are 3 large bedrooms. all have their own ensuite bathroom. The bedrooms have built in closets. Master and Second bedroom have king size beds, the third bedroom has 2 double beds. Linens, pillows and blankets are provided.

  • We have all the comforts of home. Dishwasher, stove, fridge, freezer, microwave and washer/dryer etc.

  • We have all necessities to make whatever food you can imagine, doing Thanksgiving Dinner or Christmas Dinner? No problem we have everything you could need to prepare a feast. Stovetop, oven, dishwasher, fridge, kettle, and all utensils.

    You will need to provide your own food but some of the basic items will be provided (ex S&P). We have to throw out any perishable items but some spices and other non-perishables should be there.

    Worst case the Fresko is close and has absolutely everything you could want or need.
